Performing Arts
Our school has a very rich and strong tradition of cultural activities which includes Performing Arts, Indian Music, Western Music, Dramatics, and more. The importance of Drama and Performing Arts is quite significant in education. Whether children have the opportunity to perform in theatre productions or help out behind the scenes, Drama and Performing Arts at our school not only engage them with the creative side of their brain, but also provide an ideal balance in their patterns of study.
Students are encouraged to take part in various Cultural Festivals, Inter-house Competitions, Heritage Festivals and other Musical Programs where they showcase the very best of their talents. We offer practical learning to the students thereby achieving the balance of right education — one of the major benefits of Performing Arts.
Indian Classical Dance
Students explore the rich heritage of Indian classical dance forms including Bharatanatyam, Kathak, and Folk dances, developing grace, rhythm and cultural pride through regular practice and performances at school events and inter-school competitions.
Tabla
The Tabla is one of the most celebrated percussion instruments in Indian classical music. Students learn the art of tabla playing from experienced instructors, exploring rhythm, beat and the rich tradition of classical Indian music composition.
Guitar
Guitar classes at Orchids The International School introduce students to both Western and Indian styles of playing. From basic chords to complex compositions, students develop musical dexterity, creativity and the confidence to perform in front of audiences.
Drums
Drum training at the school teaches students rhythm, coordination and the fundamentals of percussion. Students participate in school bands, cultural events and musical showcases, developing both individual skill and the ability to play as part of an ensemble.
Dramatics & Theatre
Our drama and theatre programme builds confidence, communication skills and creativity. Students work with expert drama coaches to produce stage plays, skits and theatrical performances for annual events, heritage festivals and cultural competitions. Through theatre, students explore empathy, storytelling and the art of bringing characters to life.
Western Music
Our Western Music programme encompasses vocal training, keyboard, and ensemble music. Students are trained by qualified music teachers and get regular opportunities to perform at school functions, inter-school competitions, and music festivals, building both technical skill and stage confidence.
